Marion Police Department investigators are hoping the public can offer some information about a rash of drive-by shootings in the city in recent days.

According to Police Chief Gary Kelley, the city has seen three apparent drivebys in less than a week’s time.

“On Feb. 3, 2019, between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. this (Saturday) morning, several shots were fired at an apartment on Birdie Drive and several vehicles were struck during what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.”

Though Kelley did not provide a time frame, he reported another similar incident.

“Also, in what appeared to be an isolated incident, on Bayou Vista a residence was struck several times also.”

These two most recent incidents follow another episode of violence last week. Last Thursday morning, Jan. 31, Marion police responded to reports of a drive-by shooting in a residential neighbothood in the early morning hours.

“The Marion Police Department is investigating a drive by shooting that occured Thursday Morning at approximately 2.26 a.m.,” Marion Police Chief Gary Kelley reported following the first shooting. “The residence, at 723 Lackey Rd., was struck several times by gunfire.”

While no injuries have beem reported in any of these shootings, there has been very little in the way of evidence for investigators to gather. Chief Kelley has asked that anyone with information about the incident contact the Crittenden County Crime Stoppers at 870-732-4444 or the Marion Police Department at 870-739-2101.
