The Lady Bulldogs alltime leading scorer will be taking her skills to a Division 1 college.
Senior RoShaia Scott signed a letter of intent for a basketball scholarship with Southeast Missouri University.
Scott is the only player to ever score over 2,000 points for the Lady Bulldogs in her high school career and is averaging 19 points per game this season.
“I’m very excited being able to play in the next level in college basketball,” Scott said. “It’s close to home and it’s a Division 1 school.”
Brown had 13 scholarship offers from schools including Arkansas State University, Middle Tennessee State University, University of Central Arkansas, University of Arkansas Little Rock, Southern Mississippi, and Tulsa.
“She had quite a few offers,” said Coach Corey Garrett. “But she built a really good relationship with the coach at SEMO.
They have been on here the last couple of years.”
Garrett said Brown will be a good fit for SEMO. She’s not only a prolific scorer, but also a team leader.
“They love the way she can score and how she can run the team,” Garret said.
“Offensively, she’s just amazing the way she score and the shots that she is able to get off and make.
It’s just amazing. And she is very much a team leader. She’s able to motivate the girls.”
Garrett said Scott has been a joy to coach.
‘I’ve enjoyed her,” Gar- has been a special player good any time you can rett said. “I wish I could have her a little longer. Ro from day one.” And as a coach, it makes me feel have a player sign a Division 1 scholarship.”
