Wasn’t that water tower deal supposed to be done by New Year’s? Money well spent!
[Editor’s Note: While I’m almost always completely behind any project or initiative that might be a positive for the community, I just have never seen the merit of the Water Tower Art Project.
I’d certainly be happy to be wrong about this one, but all the delays and such have made defending the decision pretty close to impossible.
Maybe this year…] Well it looks like Marco outsmarted the competition in the mayor race, he figured with enough running there would be a run off, and as I also anticipated that it would probably be between he and Croom, and when the run off day came he figured he had it made because folks that voted the first time didn’t b other to go back and vote for Wayne! Congrats to Mr. Mc-Clendon on his new, oh, I’m sorry, this might be his first job? I don’t know and really don’t care if every doesn’t!!!
[Editor’s Note: Well, the time for speculation is over. Mr.
McClendon is Mayor of West Memphis as of yesterday. I’m sure it will be “all eyes on ” as McClendon sets an agenda for the city in the coming weeks, with particular attention being paid to the police and fire departments. Some other less high-profile but equally important areas of the government to watch will be the utility department and the sanitation department. Those are both key components of the city’s day-to-day that may not receive much in the way of publicity but they both affect every person living in West Memphis. There has been some trouble brewing with the trash collection for some time, and I'll be interested to see what, if any, action McClendon takes to get that under control] Reading the paper on Friday I see a text talking about a wet paper and the person paying 40 dollars A YEAR for this paper. Have the fees changed? I pay a little over 19 dollars every 3 months just wondering. Thanks [Editor’s Note: Our subscription rates are published on Page 4 of the newspaper every day in the bottom left corner. Outside any special promotions that we may run from time to time, those are the regular going rates ] I am a little confused about trash pick up for WM for next week, Dec. 31-Jan. 4.
There is one schedule on the digital copy of the Times for Thursday, dec. 27 & there is a different schedule on Facebook under the City of West Memphis. Which schedule is correct? [Editor’s Note: I’m sorry, but by the time you actually read this, it will be a moot point anyhow, but the regular schedule resumes today. Sorry if there was any confusion on the schedule[
