Early Voting underway for Dec. 4 election

From the Eastern Arkansas Realtors Association

WEST MEMPHIS – The Eastern Arkansas Realtors Association is supporting Wayne Croom in the West Memphis Mayoral runoff election. Wayne Croom faces Macro McClendon in the runoff on Tuesday, December 4th. Early voting started Tuesday, November 27th.

“We feel Mr. Croom has shown that he is the most qualified to lead West Memphis in writing the city’s next chapter,” said EARA President Jack Poff Jr. “His business experience, civic engagement, and past two years on the city council have demonstrated he wants more for this city.

He has taken initiative and proven the status quo is not acceptable.”

Wayne Croom retired as manager of Langston Bag in 2016. His community involvement includes work with the Single Parent Scholarship Fund, Delta-Arts, West Memphis Chamber of Commerce, West Memphis Rotary, Steudlein Learning Center, the Fallen Officers Memorial, Families in Transition and other organizations.

“The West Memphis housing market and the county as a whole is still in recovery from the housing market crash over a decade ago,” said Poff. “Wayne understands the city plays a role in attracting new industry along with new residents.” “A stable housing market,” Poff continued, “helps the middle class which helps local families.” The National Association of REALTORS reports that for every home sold in Arkansas there is $8,048 economic multiplier impact and a total economic impact of $41,753 in total income derived.

The association took special interest in this race early on hosting a debate for the six Mayoral candidates October 16th at the Civic Center.

“I appreciate the support of ARPAC and all those that were involved with securing this campaign donation,” Croom said. “I look forward to working with the Eastern Arkansas Realtors Association to move our community in a positive direction.”

The Eastern Arkansas Realtors Association recently made a donation in support of West Memphis City Councilman Wayne Croom in the upcoming West Memphis mayoral runoff on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Croom and fellow City Councilman Marco Mc-Clendon are vying to fill the seat being vacated by Mayor Bill Johnson.
