Town Meeting

Report from Water Operator, Rick Scarbrough was water samples were good, the sewer is doing fine and the French drain had been installed. Report given during, Fire Chief Thomens’s absence was inviting the Mayor and Council to the Annual Fireman’s Dinner on December 8th. City Attorney noted that Carol Adams had been sworn in office, as Town Recorder. Council voted to get a new router for internet in the City Hall office and to purchase receipt books with the Town of Horseshoe Lake address, instead of using generic receipt book(s). City Hall will be closed on Nov. 12, in observance of Veteran’s Day, Sunday, Nov. 11. City Hall will be also be closed on Nov. 22-23 for Thanksgiving. The annual Christmas Decorating Contest, not affiliated with the Town or Surf Club is strictly on an individual community basis, has scheduled judging on Dec. 15, details to follow. There was discussion on certain culverts on Highland Dr. needed to cleaned/repaired in order to allow proper drainage. One alderperson requested a list of current fire department members including new members. Playground equipment has an expected delivery date of Nov. 12.

Bunco

Year- Round Bunco was held on Nov. 5, at the home of Donna Culver. This month’s hostess was Stephanie Bruister-Shelby. She served Chicken Fajitas, Rotel dip, Avocado dip, chips and Cherry pineapple Dump Cake. High score was won by Jayla White who was subbing for Kerry Facello, low score went to Kathy Davenport, who also had traveler’s gift. Most big buncos was won by Stephanie Bruister-Shelby.
