West Memphis Christian Lady Knights received 4-1A MAIS All-Conference selections placing third in conference play. Earning the recognition was 1st baseman Kelsey Baker, pitcher Grace Patterson, 3rd baseman Piper Farmer and shortstop Anna Hitchman.

Round One Complete

It was a clean sweep for the East in the Class 6A Football Playoffs this weekend, with all four games going the Eastern Conference’s way and eliminating two-thirds of the West’s chances for a State Championship. Searcy defeated Siloam Springs 49-42, Jonesboro beat Lake Hamilton 47-44, Sylvan Hills defeated Russelville 31-29, and Pine Bluff beat El Dorado 21-15. All four games were competitive and decided by a single touchdown or less, but the East reigned supreme in round one. Now all eyes turn to the second round, where Searcy will take on West Champions Greenwood, and Jonesboro will play No. 2 seed from the West, Benton. The local teams will see their first action of the postseason as well, with Marion taking on Sylvan Hills, while Eastern Conference Champions West Memphis will host Pine Bluff.
