The 1968 graduating class of West Memphis High School met for their 50th Reunion this past weekend. On Friday, Oct. 12 a large portion of the class met at the high school for a foot-

Submitted photo ball game between Jonesboro and West Memphis.

The class was treated to a hot dog and hamburger tailgate party. They were also supplied with the schools’ famous cinnamon rolls, a favorite back in high school days.

The announcer recognized the class and also honored the football players from 1968 by having them on the field and letting them witness the coin toss.

The game was won by West Memphis 35 to 14.

Both bands played during half time and did outstanding jobs. The West Memphis Cheerleaders put on quite a show for the ‘68 class and should be given rave reviews!

Saturday, Oct. 13 the class met again at the Wyatt Building in Crawfordsville, with food supplied by CG’s Catering. The food and ambiance was great. Classic music from the 60’s was played and a good time was had by all.

A total of 59 classmates attended the fun get-together.

27 were local residents, five were from Memphis, eight from other parts of Arkansas, two from Colorado, five from Texas, one from Illinois, one from Indiana, one from New Jersey, one from Tennessee, two from Georgia, one from Oregon, one from Kentucky, one from Alabama, one from Louisiana, one from Florida and one from Mississippi. With spouses and guests the total came to around 100.

Everyone enjoyed each other’s company, some going that Saturday to the Crawfordsville Festival and others to lunch together at an old favorite, Panchos.

“We are all looking forward to our next reunion!,” said Class of ‘68 alum and the Times’own Joy Hall.
