Gerald Fred Martz Gerald Fed Martz, 87, of Marion passed away on Friday, Aug. 25, 2018, at his home.

“Jerry” was bom and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and graduated from Devilbus Fligh School and the University of Toledo.

Fie was preceded in death by his parents, Fred D. Martz and May me Bade Martz; two brothers, James and Charles Martz; a son Fred Martz of Vero Beach, FL; and his first wife Joyce Klag Martz.

Jerry is survived his wife of thirty seven years, Jeanie Hale Martz of Marion; daughters, Wendy Hendrickson of Marion, and Leslie Rouquette of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Carolyn Martz of Vero Beach, Florida, and Jerry Martz of Palm Bay, Florida; one great grandson, Jordon Martz; and two step children, Chris Crain of Marion and Laura Otto of McKinney, Texas.

Jerry joined the Marine Corps and served in the Korean War, he was a member

of Baker’s Bandits. He was wounded and spent a

years in Great Lakes Naval Hospital, and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Jerry was employed by Owens Illinois in Toledo and American Lubricating in Memphis, Tennessee.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in West Memphis, with burial to follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, or to Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
