Gerald D. Garrett, Sr.

Born October 25, 1934 Died April 3, 2018 Former West Memphis native passed away peacefully at home in Tucson, Arizona. A Marine Corp. veteran of the Korean War. Alumni of the University of Arkansas. He was a hunting and fishing expedition guide in western Colorado. An avid reader of Zane Grey and Louis L’Amour. Played the guitar and performed in a country and western ensemble. He retired from Peabody Energy Co. Preceded in death by sons, Rev. Paul Garrett, and Dudley Garrett. Survived by a son, Christopher Garrett; and his two daughters, Christian and Giselle of Cordova, Tennessee; grandsons, Stephen and Michael Garrett; and granddaughter Natalie Garrett of Lake Horn, Mississippi, sister, Doris Neal; and niece, Amanda Divilbiss of Marion. Final internment is with veteran honors and commemorative marker.
