State Police investigating WMPD, pedestrian death

West Memphis man dies after being hit by patrol vehicle

Arkansas State Police have been called in to investigate after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a West Memphis Police officer last Thursday night.

The incident occurred aaround 8:45 p.m. near the 900 block of East Broadway.

Arkansas State Police identified the victim as Jessie Jordan, 76, of West Memphis.

No details have been released about how the crash happened. The officer has not been identi- fied, but has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation. West Memphis Police

turned the investigation over to the Arkansas State

Police.
