Rubicon Global, West Memphis partner to enhance waste and recycling services
City will incorporate RUBICON SmartCity technology in fleet of hauling trucks, enabling monitoring of trucks in real- time, optimizing routes, improving services
Content Creative Media ATLANTA – Rubicon Global and the City of West Memphis today announced the launch of a public-private partnership that will help West Memphis improve its residential waste and recycling services.
Michael Allegretti, SVP of Policy & Strategic Initiatives for Rubicon noted, “Our proprietary technology, which is currently in use in more than 20 U.S. cities, will give West Memphis an array of new data and analytic capabilities.”
With the mobile app and plug-in device, the Department of Public Works will be able to take and organize pictures, flag locations, dispatch alerts and also provide real-time GPS monitoring of each vehicle. These new operational efficiencies will ultimately lead to savings for taxpayers. The data will help the City understand how to better focus its recycling education efforts, measure the carbon avoidance from recycling activities and determine vehicle emission reduction targets in the City’s waste fleet.
RUBICONSmartCity is currently deployed in more than 20 municipalities in half a dozen states including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Texas.
