West Memphis native interns in Senator Boozman’s Washington office

Senator Boozman’s Office WASHINGTON – West Memphis residents calling U.S. Senator John Boozman’s Washington office may have heard a familiar voice at the end of the line. Taylor Donnerson, a 2015 graduate of West Memphis High School, participated in Boozman’s Congressional Summer Internship Program.

While in Washington, Donnerson attended committee hearings and legislative briefings, worked with congressional staff on various state and federal projects, provided constituent services to visiting Arkansans, attended lectures from a variety of speakers, gave tours of the U.S. Capitol building and shadowed Boozman for a day to get an idea of what his daily routine is like.

“My favorite part has been getting a first-hand look at what our Senators and Representatives are achieving on Capitol Hill. In Washington, it’s a whole different experience to go to the hearings and see for myself how hard they’re working for Arkansans,” Donnerson said.

“Taylor has been a tremendous help to the people of Arkansas during her time in Washington. I appreciate her commitment and dedication to serving Arkansans and being an ambassador for our office,” Boozman said.

Donnerson’s internship was facilitated through the Cornerstone Congressional Fellowship. In addition to working on Capitol Hill, interns through this program participate in a weekly Bible study and perform weekly community service. Donnerson participated in So Others Might Eat (SOME), an interfaith, community-based organization that aims to break the cycle of homelessness.

Donnerson is a senior at Lyon College where she is pursuing degrees in psychology, religion and philosophy.
