Community offered opportunity to weigh in on longterm transportation improvement planning

ralphhardin@gmail.com The West Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization is soliciting public comments concerning the proposed fiscal years 2019 through 2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The MPO, which governs all metropolitan planning for West Memphis and surrounding communities in Crittenden County is offering members of the community an opportunity to offer input as it develops long-term projects according for its Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

“Comments will be taken until July 9,” said MPO Study Director Eddie Brawley. “Please contact the MPO if you have comments or questions concerning this document. You can call, fax or e-mail us at 870-735-8148; Fax No.

870-735-8158; BCE@sbcglobal. net.” The proposed TIP may be review at the MPO office, the MPO’s web site at wmats.org or at the following locations: West Memphis City Hall, 205 S.

Redding, West Memphis; Office of the Crittenden County Judge, Court House, Marion; Marion City Hall, 14 Military Rd., Marion; Public Library, Oliver at Avalon, West Memphis; Sunset City Hall, 300 Hwy. 77 Bypass, Marion; or Woolfolk Library, 100 Currie St., Marion.

The MPO has also announced the following upcoming meetings in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA):

• MPO Citizens Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, July 9, at 10 a.m.

The CAC meeting will be held at the West Memphis City Hall, 205 South Redding, West Memphis. The public is invited to attend.

• Joint MPO Policy and Technical Coordinating Committees meeting on Tuesday, July 10, at 10 a.m. This meeting will be held at the West Memphis Civic Center East Room, 212 West Polk Avenue, West Memphis. The public is in- vited to attend.
