The Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police responded to a “shots fired” call over the weekend, which turned into a joint murder investigation. Responders found Keith Densmore, 24, of Turrell shot dead on Saturday morning. Sheriff Mike Allen provided a recap.

“The victim had been visiting a female in the 500 block of Hammond, when the suspect arrived,” said Allen. “The two men got into it verbally and the suspect pulled a pistol and shot Jackson.” According to Allen, the suspect stayed on the scene and turned over the handgun to authorities. Police arrested Roosevelt Carlos Jackson, 26, after interviewing witnesses at the scene.

Investigators checked out the gun which turned out to be stolen.

Roosevelt was charged with Homicide (Murder in the First Degree), Terroristic Act, and Theft by Receiving for the stolen handgun.

Jackson stood for arraignment Monday morning. He remains in custody at the Crittenden County Detention Center on a $350,000 bond for the homicide and a $40,000 bond for the remaining charges.
