An Earle man is facing homicide charges in connection with the death of a maintenance worker at Earle School District.
Marquise Clark, 23, of Earle, was arrested Tuesday and charged with the death of 62 year-old Lionell Jackson, also from Earle.
Sheriff Mike Allen said Jackson was found dead in his home on Fulton Street.
The exact cause of death and the manner of the victim’s death has yet to be determined, but investigators have ruled it a homicide.
“He was found inside his house and we had gotten a call,” Allen said. “They went over there and discovered blood all over the house and that the bedroom door had been kicked in.”
Clark was booked into the Crittenden County Jail on first degree murder charges, as well as a probation violation. He is scheduled to be arraigned on those charges on Friday in West Memphis District Court.
Allen thanked investigators with the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas State Police, and Earle Police Department for their team work in the investigation and the quick apprehension of the suspect.
