Holmes completes doctorate in Physical Therapy

www.uams.edu Kristen Holmes of Turrell, Arkansas, graduated with Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in a commencement ceremony held on May 19, 2018.

While at UAMS, Holmes was recognized on UAMS College of Health Professions Dean’s List. She participated in a number of research projects. Holmes also successfully completed intership rotations at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, St. Bernard’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in Jonesboro, Mercy Hospital in Rogers and Holly Street Physical Therapy in Siloam Springs.

Holmes served as volunteer or the OPTimize 2017 Fall Conference held in Little Rock and for the North Street Clinic for Marshallese Church Health Screenings program.

Holmes is a member of the American Academy of Physical Therapy, Student Special Interest Groups, American Physical Therapy Association and Arkansas Physical Therapy Association.

Holmes plans to work as a physical therapist in the Memphis Metropolitan areas. She is the daughter of Floyd and Reena’ Holmes of Turrell, Arkansas.

Holmes was a member of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) inaugural class for the Physical Therapy. The program was housed on the UAMS Northwest campus in Fayetteville. Students in this program earn their Doctorate of Physical Therapy through a 34-month, full time program.
