Julian Romo, a third grade student at Marion Elementary School, recently placed 2nd in the state in the 3rd grade division of the “Wildlife of Arkansas” 2018 Student Art Contest.
Romo earned the honor with his mixed-media drawing titled “Chillin' Alligator,” which was selected from more than 1,100 entries submitted for the contest for grades K-12. Julian was given his award during a ceremony last Friday night at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock. Julian was awarded a certificate, his 2nd place ribbon, and $50.
“I am so proud of this talented and deserving student!” said Gail Fogleman, Marion Elemenary 2nd and 3rd grade Art teacher, who entered him in the contest.
“Julian's art will travel all around the state to different Wildlife Centers for viewing
this year.”
