A Silent, Powerful Protest

In conjunction with similar events across the nation, Marion High School students held a moment of silence at 10 a.m. last Thursday for the 17 victims of the Feb. 14 shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. With the support of the faculty and administration, the students staged a supervised walkout in the courtyard, and were encouraged to contact Congress. As part of the gathering, MHS senior Claire Bunn led a moment of silence for the shooting victims over the school intercom.
