Crittenden Youth Theatre presents The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’

Annual spring production p/ays MPAC March 2-3

From Kelly Pouncey

Delta Arts Development & Marketing Director Join us as the actors of Crittenden Youth Theatre usher you through the wardrobe to the land of Namia. This new (nonmusical) dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-beforgotten Namia.

This production introduces the CYT family to a new director, Emily Binford. Emily says 'this play will be an experience for the audience and a creative experience for the actors performing. Seeing the children's growth in rehearsals is inspiring as a director. I hope the inspiration will seep into opening night, into the hearts of the audience as they watch the young performers tell the story of Namia.'

Emily has worked in the entertainment industry for eleven years now. She has a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Performance from the University of Memphis, and has performed on many stages in the Midsouth and southeast area, from dancing to acting to photography.

Performing and creating are a huge part of who Emily is and what she shares with the world. She creates stories and teaches performance art to help communities express themselves, individuals to find confidence in their voices, and tell stories to help encourage personal and community growth. She thanks DeltaArts for giving her the opportunity to share her gifts and experiences with the arts community in West Memphis.

Please join us March 2 for the 12:30 p.m. matinee or 7 p.m. for the evening show, or on March 3 at 7 p.m., at the Marion Performing Arts Center for this magical show.
