A duo including the Memphis Songwriter of the Year and a keyboard artist with a Sun Studio label will treat an audience to a great music mix in Marion this Sunday. Pastor Horace Tipton announced Wyly and Bailey Bigger will be performing this Sunday, Oct.

15, at 4 p.m., as part of the free concert series at Trinity in the Fields Anglican Church in Marion.

According to their mom, Dara Bigger, the pair have been performing together publicly for about four years. In that short time span Wyly, 20, and Bailey, 17 have already received some impressive accolades. “They will perform some original, some gospel and some covers at the church,” said their proud mom.

“They are a little of everything together.” The brother and sister keyboard and guitar combo blend together well but different solo styles.

“Bailey would be classified as folk, and Wyly more Rockabilly – but together they are a mixture of everything,” said Dara.

Each has had some local musical acclaim after displaying love for music in their childhood years.

“Wyly started picking out songs on a toy piano when he was three and was on to lessons at age four,” said Dara. “Bailey had been wanting to play guitar and at age nine we put her in lessons at Marion Baptist performing arts after school. She immediately started writing her own music. They hit an age where they decided they liked each other and could work together.”

It’s all paid off with some local acclaim too.

“Some of the cool places they’ve played is the 901 Fest at Tom Lee Park this last summer,” said Dara.

“The Italian Fest in east Memphis was cool and Wyly recorded an original song at Sun Studios last February. Bailey won the 2017 Memphis song of the year, Wild Flower, through a contest with the Memphis Song Writers association.”

“They’ve got a lot more accolades than that, but those are some of the highlights,” said Dara.

And that all should be enough to whet the appetites of local music lovers to the free concert at the church just off the courthouse square in Marion this Sunday afternoon.
