Calling all Hogs fans!

Marion Chamber of Commerce will be turning courthouse square into one big tailgate party.

The Chamber will be hosting “Hogs on the Square” October 14.

Fans of the Razorbacks can come out and root the team on as they take on the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.

“I’m excited,” said Chamber President Mike Demster. “This is the first time we’ve done this.”

Demster said they will have a 20-by-8 foot Jumbotron set up at courthouse

square. Residents are encouraged to come out and spread a blanket and fire up the grill and watch the game on the big screen.

“It will be a very family oriented event,” Demster said.

Demster said they will be pre-empting the commercials and half-time and will instead show clips from their “Only in Marion” ad campaign featuring residents touting why they love living in Marion.

“I think that will be fun to see on the big screen,” Demster said.

Demster said Razorback football is extremely popular in the area and he is hoping for a big turnout.

“The only thing we have to worry about is rain,” Demster. “I hope we have the biggest tailgate party in the history of Crittenden Country.”
