Lady Knights fall to Tunica

West Memphis Christian rallied late, but fell a run shy of Tunica Academy on Monday

sports@theeveningtimes.com began to piece together a rally when Riley Cook and Shelby Vaughn reached base on back-to-back singles. Cook then stole third and got West Memphis Christian on the board via a groundball by Kelsey Baker.

The Lady Knights bats continued to heat up in the sixth inning as Patterson drew a lead-off walk and Kylie Jones brought in both Patterson and Vaughn with a two-RBI single.

After advancing to third, Cook plated Vaughn. Cook then raced home on an error by the Tunica first baseman, allowing Taylor Busby to reach base safley. However, the Lady Knights bats left them a run short.

Leading the way at the plate for West Memphis Christian was Cook, going two-for-three while scoring two runs. Vaughn also went two-for-three and Jones drove in two runs on the evening.

The Lady Knights are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 5, traveling to Marvel Academy. Game time at Marvel is scheduled for 4 p.m.
