– The West Memphis School District and Crittenden Publishing Co. will be publishing a special commemorative piece highlighting the many changes being undertaken to meet the needs of education tomorrow. This is an excellent opportunity for all former West Memphis graduates to be a part of this special high-quality magazine that will be available to every current student, principal, teachers and staff, as well the community and prospective newcomers.

All interested alumni can have their name and the year of graduation published in this magazine for $15 by contacting the Times’ classified department at 735-1010. Ten dollars of the $15 will be donated to the West Memphis School District. The last day to participate in this special commemorative publication is Friday, July 7.

Wonder City Boys and Girls Club Summer Food Program – As of July 1 we will only serve breakfast (8 to 9 a.m.) and lunch (11:30 a.m.12:30 p.m.) at 412 S. 25th St., West Memphis. We will no longer serve at The Academies of West Memphis.

Series of Talk on Diabetes to be held at First United Methodist Church – The first lecture series will be held Saturday, July 8 from noon to 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Missouri, West Memphis. Lisa Duke, Certified Diabetes Educator will give a short talk and then take questions from participants. Light refreshments will be served. Participants will also have a chance to win a $150 VISA card if they attend at least three of the events in West Memphis. The drawing will be held on the last day of the last event. Earle School District Summer Food Service Program – Meals provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability at the Earle School District (High School Cafeteria), 16432 Hwy. 64 W., Earle. West Memphis School District to destroy 2011-2012 Special Education Records – For students who were dismissed from special education or graduated during the 20112012 school year.
