Olton Billy Anthony, 66 of Gilmore, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at his residence. Visitation is Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services following at 11 a.m., also at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, with burial in Paradise Garden.

He leaves five sisters, Sharon Jackson of Gilmore, Orlitha Wooten of Harvey, Illinois, Nancy Bethke of Willmington, Illinois, Orllie Harris of Robbins, Illinois and Jacqueline Brown of Gary, Indiana.

Lois Avant

Lois Avant, 78, a homemaker, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, in Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday 11 a.m., at Pilgrim Rest with burial in Paradise Gardens.

She leaves a daughter, Sheila Brown; a sister, Ruby Jordan White; and six grandchildren, Regina McGhee, Fernando Johnson, Willie Dermont Demery, Jamal McGhee, Andrell McGhee and Demetris Kimble.

Clara Jane Franks

Clara Jane Franks, 89, of Tyronza, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday June 13, 2017, in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Clara was born Jan. 7, 1928, to Eldridge and Alma Brewington Franks in Savannah, Tennessee. They moved to Tyronza in 1930 where she grew up. She married Bernis Benton Franks March 6, 1945, and they resided in West Memphis until 1961, before moving back to Tyronza.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bernis Allen Franks who passed on April 17, 2017; two brothers, L.E. Franks and Junior Franks; and one sister, Edith Payne.

Clara is survived by two sons, Terry Franks of Las Vegas, Nevada and Steve Franks of Tyronza; two daughters, Linda Armstrong of Trumann, and Lisa Davis (Terry) of Marion; five granddaughters, Julie Blagg (Michael) and Jill Dye (Ronnie) of Trumann, Arkansas, Lori Redman (Jake) of Little Rock, Jennifer Goldsby (Tri) of Marion, and Stephanie Alford (Harold) of Collierville, Tennessee; nine great-grandchildren, Erica Blagg of Nashville, Tennessee, Neely Blagg and Grayson Dye of Trumann, Trevar Dye, Jackson Redman and Sophia Redman of Little Rock, Thomas Goldsby IV, Alaina Goldsby and Ana Alford; two nieces, Jeannie Wilson (Johnny) of Marion and Kathy Payne of Salem.

Services for Clara will be held at Tyronza First Baptist Church on Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m. Pallbearers attending include, Ronnie Dye, Trevar Dye, Grayson Dye, Michael Blagg, Butch Boeckmann and James Brasfield. Family will receive friends for visitation from 10 until 11 a.m.

Donald Laban Hall Sr.

Donald Laban Hall Sr., 90 of West Memphis passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, between 6 and 8 p.m.

A graveside service will be Saturday at Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark, at 11 a.m.

Mr. Hall is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Kennedy of West Memphis; his sons, Donald Hall Jr. of Belle Vista, Robert S. Hall Sr. of West Memphis, Stanley Hall of Pocahontas and Durell Laxton of Memphis; Mr. Hall also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and a sister Ruth Clemmer of East point, Georgia.

Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his two wives, Carlene Hall and Emily Hall.

Sarah Elizabeth Little

Sarah Elizabeth Little, 82, of Bartlett, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, after a long battle with cancer.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, William J.

Little; her parents, Ed and Henrietta White; and her brother, David White.

She is survived by a son, Marcus Lee Little and wife Gayle Little of Byhalia Mississippi; and a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Little of Memphis, Tennessee. She also leaves a sister, Vivian Davis (Jesse Davis-Deceased) of Cordova, Tennessee; a brother, James E. White (Diane White) of Batesville, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and greatgreat nieces and nephews.

Sarah was born on February 13, 1935, in Nettleton, Mississippi, she graduated from Hughes High School in 1953, and retired from Sears in 1996, after 37 years of service. Sarah was an active member of Trifalgar Village Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, and requests that any memorials be sent to TVBC Building Fund or Organization of the Donor’s Choice.

The family will receive friends on Friday June 16, from noon until 2 p.m., at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will take place immediately following the service at Crittenden Memorial Park located in Marion, Arkansas.

Ben K. C. McKenzie

Ben K. C. McKenzie, 37, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday, 1 p.m., also at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.

He leaves his mother, Mattie Jones of West Memphis.

Christopher Wayne Owens

Christopher Wayne Owens, 48, of West Memphis, passed away June 12, 2017. Mr.

Owens leaves behind his parents, Lana and Richard Owens of Memphis; two uncles, Danny Mohundro (Marcia) and John Mohundro (Pam); as well as one cousin, Amy Mohundro Sarkissian (Ara). A service of remembrance will take place, Friday, June 17, at 2 p.m., at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.

A committal service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Duane Andrew Royal

Duane Andrew Royal, 45, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was an HVAC Foreman. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lakeview Church of God in Christ. Services Saturday, at 12 noon, at Holy City Church of God in Christ, with burial in New Park Cemetery. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in charge of services.

He leaves his wife, Grace Royal; his father, Rev. George Royal; his mother, Mordean Royal; two sisters, Dorcas Brazile and Rhoda Royal; and a brother, Apollos Royal.

Lucille Sorrell Steen

Lucille Steen passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Broadway Health and Rehab Facility.

She was born in Mississippi on April 30, 1929, but spent most of her life in Arkansas where she raised her six children. She was very proud of her children and her Arkansas Razorbacks. Outside of spending time with her family she most enjoyed a good game of chance especially going to Tunica when she was able or more recently Monday bingo at the nursing home.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Flossie and Lonnie Anderson; two sisters, Louise Godwin and Lyntine Fleet; her loving husband, JW Steen; and her oldest son James Dennis Sorrell.

She is survived by two brothers, Howard Anderson and Don Anderson (Lois); one sister, Mary Jane Gross; her five children, Gail Mayfield (Dale), Susan Marconi (Charles), Phillip Sorrell (Suzanne), Nancy Wood (Rick) and Rick Sorrell; three step-children, Jerry Steen, Wanda Jackson (Michael) and Shirley Hindman; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas at 1 p.m., with a service to follow at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 15.

Dorothy Mae Johnson Williams, 62, of West Memphis, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at her residence.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services 1 p.m., Saturday, at 15th Street COGIC and burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery.

She leaves a daughter, Melissa Williams of West Memphis; a son Marcus D.

Johnson of West Memphis; a sister Lillian Johnson of West Memphis; and a grandson.
