Love the Health and Fitness page! Coach Brown and Tracy Evans are great inspiration.

[ Editor’s Note: Yeah, they’re great and all, but then you go to Walmart to buy groceries and you pass Tracy and Amanda Evans with your cart full of Twinkies and Mountain Dew. Sure, they smile and shake your hand… but they’re judging you… oh, yes, they’re judging you. OK, but really, though, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. We’re always up for try-ing something different and it’s the time of year for getting outside and being active… it’s also the time of year for backyard barbecues and family vacation food, so try to find the right kind of balance there]

*** A few months ago you ran a story about the lights on the interstate being changed in April. Well here it is June and nothing has been changed. What happened? [ Editor’s Note: I feel pretty sure that the project in question has already been completed. It wasn’t designed to be a major change- the- world event or anything. They were just longer- lasting LED bulbs. To quote the story we ran earlier this year, “ When lights need changed, it’s expensive to close traffic lanes and set up a safe work zone with barrels and electronic message board signs. The work also poses a high risk for crews performing the arduous task.” So, the fact that you haven’t noticed a difference ( and honestly, neither have I) probably means there’s not much of a difference, but I’m sure commuters and utility workers appreciate the switch] *** As thick as it was, I’m pretty sure that Tuesday’s paper had more sales papers and coupons in it than actual news! And you stilll charge people full price? [ Editor’s Note: Well, Tuesday’s paper is actually one of our best sellers BECAUSE of all of the coupons and sales papers. Maybe you don’t make use of the coupons and such, but a lot of folks do, which we appreciate because it lets retailers know that their ad dollars are paying off. As much as I appreciate the space I have to plug in news stories and pictures, I understand that it’s the advertising revenue that goes a long way toward keeping the lights on around here. And just to be fair, the week before, we had a special section, over Lawn & Garden, that was included with the paper at no extra charge, as was the Graduation 2017 section last month, so I mean, it all balances out, right?]
