Southland Park donates $5,000 to Woolfolk Library

Spirit of community support continues with assistance in matching funds for grant

In an effort of continued community support, Southland Park Gaming and Racing recently donated $5,000 to the Woolfolk Library in Marion.

The donation will be used to assist in matching a grant applied for with the Assisi Foundation of Memphis, which will help fund a 1,250 square foot addition to the headquarters of the Crittenden County Library System, located at Woolfolk Library. “Southland Park is proud to assist in the construction of such a pillar of Crittenden County,” said David Wolf, president and general manager of Southland Park. “We are always honored to support our great community and the work of the Crittenden County Library System is something we are proud to stand alongside.”

In the mission statement of the Crittenden County Library System, it states it “shall provide for community access to a diverse selection of materials and services for information, education and enjoyment.

While focusing on the needs of today's users, the library shall also serve the users of tomorrow through the preservation of culture, knowledge and materials unique to this geographical area.”

Southland Park Gaming & Racing has been a major racing venue for more than 50 years and now also has over 1,900 electronic games of skill, including video poker and blackjack, as well as an upscale buffet restaurant, Shine Blounge, steakhouse, Sammy Hagar's Red Rocker Bar & Grill and a multi-purpose event center. Southland Park has long been a pivotal fixture of the West Memphis community, strongly supporting the community with jobs, business stability, and economic contributions.
