OBITUARIES
Bernis A. Franks, 70, of West Memphis died Monday, April 17, 2017, at his home in West Memphis.
Mr. Franks was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tyronza, Arkansas. He was a Patrolman for the West Memphis Police Department from 1974 until retirement in 1981. After retirement, he went to work for Cotton Belt Railroad Rail Road police from 1981 to 1993, and in September of 1993 came back to the West Memphis Police Department as a Detective and retired in 2011. After retirement, he became a Detective for the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department. He also served in U. S. Marine Corp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gail Franks; and his father, Bernis Ben Franks.
He is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Alford (Harold) of Collierville, Tennessee, Jennifer Goldsby (Tri) of Marion and Amanda Holt (Bret) of Marion; his mother, Clara Jane Franks of Tyronza; two sisters, Linda Armstrong of Trumann and Lisa David (Terry) of Marion; two brothers, Steve Franks of Tyronza and Terry Franks of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Ana N. Alford, Thomas B. Goldsby IV, Alaina Scott Goldsby, Caroline Holt, Browning Holt and Brittany Rodgers.
Visitation will be from 12 noon, until service time at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2107, at The First Baptist Church of West Memphis, with burial following at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.

Khalil Tyshon Olden
Khalil Tyshon Olden, 8 months, of West Memphis, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born on Aug. 5, 2016, to Terrence Olden and Tranieka Washington. He is survived by his grandparents, Trina and Charles Pugh, Tosha Olden and Artavius Thompson; one sister, Tri’nya Washington; and a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. Visitation will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at the I’m A Part Missionary Baptist Church in West Memphis, with services to follow at 11 a.m. Interment to follow Crittenden Memorial Park.
