Marion Police Department deploys new information kiosk

‘ Community Pro- Tektor’ first of its kind in area, provides valuable public services

Marion Police Department Chief Gary Kelley and the Marion Police Department is proud to be the first agency in East Arkansas to deploy a Community Pro-Tektor Kiosk! A High Tech Crime Fighting tool. This new kiosk system is designed to be law enforcement’s own personal news network for issuing realtime community alerts, notifications and warnings to the general public. The information pushed out to the kiosk is for the community to see real time information, for citizens to help assist in locating missing people, and identifying people of interest. The kiosk can be loaded with upcoming community events, useful public service announcements, current weather conditions, school closings, video, and runaways. The Pro-Tektor electronic kiosk system provides agencies the capability to push out emergency notifications (such as Amber/Silver alerts), up-todate criminal activity (robberies, kidnappings), and wanted fugitives. The kiosk is deployed in high traffic public areas, the citizens are quickly aware of the activity in their community and become law enforcement’s own extensive team of “watchful eyes.” As you can see, the kiosk has endless possibilities on keeping citizens aware of what is happening in the community and surrounding areas.

The Community Pro-Tektor has proven to be a very successful crime prevention tool and has received two separate awards: 1) FCPA “2014 Best Crime Prevention Technology” 2) NACo “2015 Achievement

Award”, in the category of Criminal Justice

and Public Safety.

Cities and counties who have deployed this electronic

crime prevention and

notification system into their communities say they are immediately accepted and well received by citizens. Agencies are seeing as much as 60 percent increase in crime tips, capturing up to 57 percent of the wanted fugitives they display, and as much as a 10.4 percent reduction in crime.

The Community Pro-Tektor software was developed specifically with Law Enforcement in mind, to create a private network, which connects public service agencies across the state and country together, to provide real-time alerts and notifications to their communities. As well as, promote community awareness and encourage involvement with helping law enforcement keep their communities safer, while enhancing your agency’s community out-reach program. Other police departments, businesses and individuals have shown interest in purchasing a kiosk with hopes to have them distributed throughout the area to keep citizens aware.

The kiosk will first be deployed at the Marion Walmart Neighborhood Market due to the high volume of foot traffic at that location.
