Condolences

Our prayers and thoughts go out to Donothan Hartness of Horseshoe Lake, for the loss of his grandmother, Lurlean Mitchell Bates. Ms. Bates, passed away on Feb. 25, in Marianna, at the age of 90.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to Cara Brown and Trevor Pouncey of Proctor, for the loss of their mother on Feb. 8. Carolyn Jane “Janie” Beasley Mason passed away at her home in Fence Lake, New Mexico. A memorial service is to be held on March 4, at 10 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Hughes. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

Canal Gardens Annual Clean-Up

This year the Canal Gardens Property Owners Association (CGPOA) scheduled their annual clean-up for April 22, with a rain date of April 29. The dumpster provided by the County will be located on Southwood Cove again this year. Atrailer will be placed for scrapable metals only at 302 Lakewood Dr. this year. The trailer is being placed by Greg Davenport of D & M Services. When ready to be removed, he turns in and the proceeds collected, will be given to the Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department. ***

Fire Department Dues

Statements are in the process of being sent out for this year’s fire dues. They are currently $50 annually. Payments may be remitted to: HLVFD, 174 Highland Dr., Horseshoe Lake, AR 72348.
