Miss Arkansas visits Weaver

Skidmore promotes reading at West Memphis elementary school

WM School District Savannah Skidmore, the reigning Miss Arkansas, made an appearance at Weaver Elementary recently to read to students as part of Citgo's National Reading Month initiative.

Skidmore also distributed free books to the students provided by Citgo and Bess the Book Bus, a mobile literacy outreach program that travels nationwide.

In addition to visiting Weaver, Skidmore visited several other schools and hospitals in Arkansas.

Citgo's reading initiative is a campaign across the Central United States to spread the joy of reading to thousands of children in more than 50 schools and children's hospitals.
