CYT applauds new directors, stage managers for ‘Peter Pan’

New creative team set for first production with ‘ Peter Pan’

DeltaARTS DeltaARTS has brought a fantastic new creative team to the Crittenden Youth Theatre stage!

Chasity 'Chat' Adaway, an ASU Mid-South freshman, Marion High School graduate, and former CYT participant, is the Stage Manager for 'Peter Pan.'

Erica Richardson, Marion High School sophomore and current CYT participant, is the Asst. Stage Manager.

Meredith Melville and Ashley Rogers are the Co-Directors for 'Peter Pan,' and are brand new to the Crittenden Youth Theatre family.

'We love to see CYT alumni come back to help teach the new and upcoming throng of young actors, and Chat and Erica are doing a great job serving as role models for our kids,' said CYT Coordinator, Alex Waddell Smith. 'We are always calling for new directors who can provide a truly educational, yet fun, experience, and Meredith and Ashley have answered that call with enthusiasm and grace!'

Meredith, a theatre instructor at Arkansas State University and judge for the Orpheum Theatre's High School Musical Theatre Awards, has a BA in Theatre from the University of North Texas and an MFA in Theatre (Directing) from the University of Memphis.

Ashley, a current costume designer for several Memphis- area schools and a former junior high theatre teacher, has worked with the Orpheum Theatre's High School Technical Intensive, and has a BFA in Theatre Education from East Carolina University and an MFA in Theatrical Design and Technical Production (Costume) from University of Memphis.

'The support from the CYT staff and production team make this process smooth,' Meredith says.

'Their organization is wonderful! Looking forward to how the actors' hard work is reflected in the produc- tion! Great team – great work!'

'The parent committees are fantastic and much appreciated!' Ashley says.

'We definitely couldn't do this without them. Their creativity and support is bringing the show to life.

Also, the CYT staff really makes our jobs a breeze.

We're very happy to be here!'

'Peter Pan' lands on the West Memphis Civic Auditorium stage Feb. 23-25.
