Larry Murle Carroll, 62, of Bay Village, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 in Jonesboro. He was born on Sept. 29, 1954 in Harrisburg to Johnny Murle and Lula Bell Williams Carroll. He was a member of Corners Chapel Baptist Church, he loved God, his wife, kids, grandkids and church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved farming with Johnny and aggravating and teasing his daughter Tojo (Ashley), his pride and joy was his children and his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Murle and Lula Bell Carroll; and daughter, September Dekoe Carroll.

Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gaye Carroll of Bay Village; a son, Johnny Carroll (Candice) of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Ashley Gamber (Andrew) of Jonesboro; three brothers, Randy Wayne Carroll of Horseshoe Lake, Mark Kim Carroll of Gentry, Arkansas and Kevin Lee Carroll of West Memphis; and eight grandchildren, Johnny III, Julie, Chesleigh, Sophia, Isabelle, Myka, Chloe and Cesceli.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway, Arkansas.

Interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Memorials may be sent to God’s New Life 105 Hinson Road Marked Tree, Arkansas 72365. Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Goff Jones

Brenda Goff Jones, 66, of Crawfordsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Marion Church of Christ, she was the Order Administrator for Stewart Title Company, and a member of the Robert E. Spillman Order of The Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Dale C. Jones of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Rebecca J. Traywick (Cole) of Arlington, Tennessee; a son, Robert William Jones (Drew) of Crawfordsville; a sister Hilda Goff of Kentucky; two brothers, Hilton Goff of West Memphis and Barry Goff of Sidney; three grandchildren, Mackinze Nicole Jones, John Allen Traywick and Marley Ann Traywick.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis with services at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at the Marion Church of Christ, 2845 Hwy. 64, Marion, Arkansas.

Dennis Higgins

Dennis Higgins, 58, of West Memphis, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. also at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home with burial in Marion Memorial Cemetery.

He leaves nine sisters, Linda Fields of Marion, Kim Mills of Little Rock, Schron Mills of North Little Rock, Joyce McGill of Scott, Stephanie Davis of Decator, Illinois, Brenda Johnson of Little Rock, Dorothy Ore of Jonesboro, Vera N’Diaye of Hillside, New Jersey and Erma Lewis of Jamica Queens, New York; and three brothers, Roosevelt Lewis Jr., of West Memphis, Emmitt Higgins of Wintergarden, Florida and Curtis Higgins of West Helena.

Ruby Lane Lofton

Ruby Lane Lofton, 69, of West Memphis, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017. Services Saturday, Feb. 4, 12 noon, in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses at Airport Road, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home South in charge of services. She is survived by six daughters, Sheila Larkin of Port Wentworth, Georgia, Lennie Lofton of Marion, Nicole Simpson of Hamilton, Ohio, Gloria Inmon of Proctor, Denita Lofton and Clemith Washington of West Memphis; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Hunter of Tupelo, Mississippi and Gladys Marshall of Houston, Mississippi; five brothers, Jerry Ivy of Matheston, Mississippi, Leon Ivy of Mantee, Mississippi, William Ivy of Houston, Mississippi, Herbert Lee Ivy of Woodlawn, Mississippi and Alonza White of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

John David Shivers

John David Shivers, 67, of West Memphis, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at his residence. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Beautiful Zion. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. also at Beautiful Zion with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Evelyn Shivers of West Memphis; a daughter, Amanda Shivers of West Memphis; three sons, John Shivers, Jr. of Denton, Texas, David Hurd of Memphis, Tennessee and Tevin Lott of West Memphis; a step-son, Jecory Tyler of Jonesboro; four sisters; three brothers; and four grandchildren.

Bessie Mae Young

Bessie Mae Young, 89, of West Memphis passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Methodist University Hospital. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. at New Mt. Zion Church with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery.

She leaves two daughters, May Bell Johnson of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Jerlline Phillips of West Memphis; a son, Otis Young, Jr., of Benton Harbor, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Lucille Ward-Washington

Lucille Ward-Washington, 63, of Marion, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017. Visitation Friday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Jennings Temple Church of God in Christ at Hughes. Services Saturday, Feb. 4, 11 a.m. in Jennings Temple with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She leaves six sons, Nathaniel Johnson of Marion, Johnny Washington of West Memphis, Marcus Washington, Christopher Johnson of Hughes, Andrew Thomas of League, Texas and Robert Lowe of Dyersburg, Tennessee; four sisters, Carrie Burton of Joliet, Illinois, Willie Nell Blair, Rosetta Moss of St. Louis, Missouri and Demetra Jones of Pine Bluff,; four brothers, Jeff Ward of Knoxville, Tennessee, Billy Joe Ward of West Helena, Robert Ward of Hughes and Melvin Ward of Montgomery, Alabama; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ullar Bell Washington

Mrs. Ullar Bell Washington, 70, of West Memphis, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Methodist University Hospital. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday, 11 a.m., at Old St. Paul Church with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery.

She leaves four daughters, Joyce Washington, Meagon Washington, Sandra Washington and Versie Washington all of West Memphis; three sons, David Washington, Jimmy Washington and Timmy Washington, all of West Memphis; two sisters, Lula Rogers and Earlene Cooper both of Chicago, Illinois; four brothers, James Brown, Benjamin Brown Jr., Joe Brown and Freddie Brown all of Hughes; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
