Former Blue Devil named All-Academic

West Memphis’ former allstate selection Cody Dauksch receives all- academic honors at UCA

WM School District Former West Memphis Blue Devil Cody Dauksch was recently honored as a 2016 Southland Conference All-Academic team member.

Dauksch, the son of Penny and Lanny Dauksch of West Memphis, was part of a list of five University of Central Arkansas football players to make the All-Academic team, which was more than any other Southland Conference school.

Dauksch, who already graduated with a 3.70 grade-point average in math, caught 7 passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns in 2016 as the Bears advanced to the second round of the FCS playoffs.

Joining Dauksch on the All-Academic team from UCA were wide receivers Desmond Smith and Jatavious Wilson and offensive linemen Stockton Mallett and John Austin Cook.

Dauksch was a two-time all-state selection during his days at West Memphis.
