West Memphis man in custody on felony charges
ralphhardin@gmail.com West Memphis Police detectives have arrested Cameron Green, 24, of West Memphis, for the robbery of the SunTrust Bank, located at 125 W. Broadway, in West Memphis.
According to reports, the SunTrust bank was robbed on Thursday, Dec. 15, when a man, later identified as Green, entered the bank and presented a teller with a note demanding money.
The teller complied and Green fled the bank with approximately $300 in change. Detectives were able to develop Green as a suspect, and during the course of the investigation, gathered enough evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for Green on Tuesday.
“Our investigators did a great job on this case quickly developing a suspect and gathering the information which ultimately led to Green’s arrest,” said Captain Joe Baker, Enforcement/ Criminal Investigation Division Commander for the West Memphis Police Department.
Green appeared in the West Memphis District Court on Wednesday and was arraigned on misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and felony aggravated robbery charges. He is currently being held at the Crittenden County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
