Linda Brooks Bollinger, 66, passed away at her daughters home with her family in West Memphis on Friday Dec. 23, 2016.

Linda was born in Memphis, Tennessee on Dec. 18, 1950.

Her parents moved to Brownsville, Tennessee when she was a small child and she resided there until 1999.

During her time in Brownsville she graduated from Haywood High School and then earned a degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She worked at American Air Filter for a number of years. She also helped run her father's company Jackson Wood Products in Jackson, Tennessee and then in Marks, Mississippi. She went on to pursue a degree in teaching as helping young people was one of her greatest passions.

She was a member at Calvary Baptist Church. She married Micheal Bollinger of West Memphis in 1995. A few years later, they moved to West Memphis where she went on to teach at Marion Intermediate School and then Richland Elementary School for a number of years. When she retired from teaching, she helped run Mike's trucking company and spent a great deal of time with her family.

She became a member of the First Methodist Church in West Memphis. In the last year she worked with her daughter, Lindsey, at Absolute Care Management Corporation, and she took great pride in her job. She had a passion for helping others and she was able to light up any room she walked into.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Dolly Scallions Poindexter and Lucille Newman Brooks and Elbert Brooks; her parents, Marjorie Marie Poindexter Brooks and Lewis John Brooks; her brother, Danny Wayne Brooks; her mother in law and father in law, Fred and Syble Bollinger; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She leaves behind her husband, Michael Oliver Bollinger of West Memphis; her son, Robert Shane Hart of Memphis; her daughter, Lindsey Allen-McGuire (Cali) of West Memphis; two sisters, Vania Brooks and Christie Brooks Thompson; two beloved nieces, Nickie Wood and Tori Dotson; and a nephew, Tyler Dotson along with many other close family members and friends. Her visitation will be held at Lea and Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, Tennessee on Wednesday Dec. 28th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and her funeral services will be held at Lea and Simmons on Thursday Dec. 29th at 2 p.m. with short graveside memorial and burial at Brownsville Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The American Alzheimer's Association or The National Institute of Neurological Disorders.

Elna Carley Brown

Elna Carley Brown, 60, of West Memphis died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at her home in West Memphis.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Hannah Lesley of Little Rock; her father, John William Woodruff Sr. of Crawfordsville; a brother, John William Woodruff Jr. of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren, Ella Grace Lesley and Lillianna Adell Lesley both of Little Rock.

James H. Crossen

James H. Crossen, 73, of Marion died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at his home in Marion.

Mr. Crossen was the owner and operator of Total Equipment Company and a U. S. Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita M. Crossen of Marion; a son, Brent D.

Crossen of Atlanta, Texas; a sister, Berline Wright of Wynne; three nephews and one niece.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with burial following at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery in Birdeye.

William L. “Bill” Earwood

William L. “Bill” Earwood, 90, of Marion died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016. He was a member of the West Memphis First Baptist Church for 55 plus years. A WWII Army Veteran of “The Greatest Generation” proudly serving in the Peace Keepers in Japan. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. In retirement he enjoyed his hobbies of restoring antique cars and guns, creating a railroad town for his grandchildren to enjoy his antique train collection.

Preceded in death by his parents, William Oliver and Minnie Ward Earwood.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nancy D. Earwood of Marion; sons, Baker David (Diana) Earwood of Flovilla, Georgia, William Dana (Charlotte) Earwood of Rogers; daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Brian) Briggs of Sanford, North Carolina and Allison Davis (Mike) Shivley of Rogers; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in West Memphis with funeral services at 11 a.m. Brother Steve Smith and Dr. Ron Kirkland will officiate. Burial will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park.

Richard L. Gist

Richard L. Gist, 62, of West Memphis, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Thursday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m.

also at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery, Edmondson.

He leaves his wife, Thelma Gist of West Memphis; a daughter, Tarvia Royal-Hyland of West Memphis; a son, Minister Rashad A. Gist of West Memphis; his mother, Mae Francis Gist of West Memphis; four sisters, Rita Richmond, Teresa Gist, Vanessa Gist and Evelyn Wilson all of West Memphis; three brothers, Donnie Gist of Marion, Harold Gist of Washington, D. C. and David Gist of Memphis; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
