Lee Roy Hampton, 67, of Heth, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Mary Frances Hampton.

He is survived by his daughter, Renell of Greensboro, North Carolina; his two brothers, David Hampton (Marylouise) of Heth and Charles Hampton of Marion; and four nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Visitation will be on Thursday, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Retha McCurley

Mrs. Retha McCurley, 79, of Forrest City, died late Friday evening, Dec. 2, 2016, at the St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born June 10, 1937, she was the daughter of Raymond Brown and Verna Lee Holman Brown. She worked at General Industries for 25 years and was a nurse at Crestpark Retirement. She was a member of the Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church in Forrest City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Toney McCurley, Sr., and five brothers, Rudolph, Morgan, William, Jack and Pete. She was also preceded in death by one sister Martha.

Mrs. McCurley is survived by three sons, Billy (& Debbie) Ficker of Forrest City, Gene (& Kathy) Ficker of Jackson, Tennessee and Toney (& Sheila) McCurley, Jr. of Forrest City; one daughter Sarah (& Alan) Thomas of West Memphis; one sister Faye Hixon of Pine Tree; five grandchildren Amy Thomas, Joseph Ficker, Lauren Baker, Toni Bradshaw and Catherine Brown; three great-grandchildren Livvi Clair, Caitlin Thomas and Devin Thomas; two great-great grandchildren Bryden Scott and Jensen Thomas.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCurley are scheduled for Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Morgan Chapel with Bro. Glenn Pettus officiating. Burial will follow at Barnishaw Cemetery at Pine Tree under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family of Mrs. McCurley will be Monday evening, Dec. 5, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Forrest Chapel Methodist Church, Forrest City, Arkansas.
