Surprised by Joy
Surprised by Joy
I have been surprised by joy lately. For I am experiencing the joy of others, which is, in turn, affecting me. Because, with the change of season, the advent of cooler weather and the approaching holiday season, is coming a kinder, gentler nature in people I have had contact with; it seems that way to me anyway.
There is a better climate – both in temperature and in folks' attitudes generally – what with the recent contentious political contest coming to a close, and the long, tense, hot and dry dog days of summer ending as well.
Folks are softening and going about their daily grind, with a will to return to normalcy and the business of business; tending to their families and going to work.
And at the heart of it all… it seems to me… is a new attitude, fostered by the ending of the last eight years spent promoting a selfish 'Me' mentality, and the start of an evolving progressive 'We' movement, beginning.
On our television sets for all to see – the last screams of haters and leftists in marches, organized by disparate groups of phony posers, transported by buses and with pre-printed signs, bought and paid for by George Soros-funded socialists, which-together with international anarchist groups-represents the last gasp of the fascist haters and Thought Police of the now-defunct politicallycorrect crowd.
Instead, the environment is becoming better.
One is wont to be standing anywhere these days, and some person or other comes up to you and begins to speak about things-they could be complete strangers. And conversation ensues to lead here and there, at once touching and interesting, and free. You feel people opening up once again about themselves and you engage them. Converse and you find common ground. Your interests are shared and the discovery of each other is found to be at once fascinating and entertaining.
There is no condemnation any more.
And the experience of more people – both friends and those who I have not yet come to know-sharing with each other again. Folks are wanting to know other folks now-there is a reaching out once more – like in the former years, before the socialists and racists in government taught that you should fear and hate your neighbor; a brand new phenomenon of acceptance is on the horizon, it appears. In the public forum, Americans are opening up once more; the energy is tangible, the vitality and rich expression of individual thought is palpable. Not like in the latter years, when thought was squelched, individual views damned before they could even be half-expressed. People are being re-invigorated, shaking themselves as if coming out a long hibernation.
I am impressed.
It is safe to swim in the water again, because the sharks in the nation's capital finally got the memo: We, the American people are sick of your sorry butts… pack your bags… time to go.
And with the closing of the open, festering sore that had the cesspool called Washington, D.C., those who had been feathering their nests at taxpayer expense, are being ousted.
The swamp is being drained.
Normalcy is returning.
Maybe now, with the wane of the balkanization of North America-this country may not be doomed to become like Europe, where there are multitudes of separated nationalities, languages and fractious psychological divisions that cannot or will not come together – as in, not ever! Europe, which was the processing center for World War I and II – the festering hatred and fear between classes and people, impossible seemingly to resolve except by the genocide of other countries and peoples, and annihilation of anyone not 'one of them.' Instead, presently in America, the division of our people appears to be dissolving. That's because the average American is no longer being marginalized.
Adults are acting like adults and not entitled children in adult bodies.
Yet, we hear that when Hillary went belly-up, university students were crying and sad.
But, they are not as sad as WE are, knowing that they are our future!
Meanwhile, real adults are finding that others of all stripes actually share the same resolve-we are discovering that our differences (as if we discovered an unknown new continent) are not quite as broad as we had first been led to believe by our former politicians.
All citizens are together, looking for a better way of life.
The middle-class of this nation, which has taken a HUGE hit in the pocketbook, what with job losses, and no practical wage increase in two decades, may yet recover.
Especially given that we are no longer subject to hateful ideological barrages from the elitist socialist food-chain at the top of Old World Media, the Hollywood “in” crowd, and effete establishment political types with their willing puppets enthroned in the ivory-towered universities doing their bidding.
They were all wrong in the last analysis.
For we are Americans… and we truly are one.
And the feeling is good. Real good.
It beckons a reminiscence… a delightful aura of past times… a flashback to when families were once close and striving, working for commonality with others. There were opportunities to advance back then, and not financial and wage hurtles like the last decades have presented.
For all this you hear when you talk to others… the words carefully wistful and hopeful for a better day. My hearing is picking up notions of concern with family instead of what other families do or do not have. It pricks up the ears also to hear calls to work and advancement by enjoying the fruits from the labor of our hands, instead of hearing the plaintive call of some who think they deserve entitlement at the public trough.
Instead, tongues are wagging about a return to educational advancement, the institution of a living wage, and equal opportunity for all. You see it in the eyes that are bright now with hope, and forward-looking.
America is looking up again.
For America is becoming Great Again!
