Docettes’ Cancer Awareness Walk
The Docette members along with this year’s Debutantes, Escorts, Ladies in Waiting and friends walked at Tilden Rodgers Park in honor of Cancer Awareness Month on Saturday, Oct. 29. President Cynthia Cheatham hopes that we will continue educating our young people and drawing attention to something that is life changing to all who have been touched by it in one way or another. Being more aware will help us detect it early and get the necessary medical attention needed. We discussed the Cancer issue with our participants before walking the park’s trail for two miles carrying pink balloons that were released afterwards representing and most of all honoring our family members, friends, co-workers and all survivor of the disease. We celebrated afterwards with a picnic for everyone in attendance. This was just one of many activities we do coming up to our main event which is the Debutante Cotillion held on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the RiverPAC (Civic Auditorium). Docette members pictured are Leonard & Betty Robinson, Gregory & Dorrinda Roberts. Not pictured are Cynthia Cheatham and Carolyn Mills.
