Mabel Louise Southerland Allen, age 91, of West Memphis, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in Jonesboro. She was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Arkadelphia, to the late Luther Alexander and Gladys Southerland. Louise was a member of West Memphis First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Allen; and one sister, Mildred Welch. Survivors are two daughters, Pat Lackey and husband, Greg of West Memphis and Jan Lee Allen of New Orleans, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Lee White and husband, Tom of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Tricia Wallin Walls and husband, Shane of San Antonio, Texas and Everette (Skipper) Wallin of Los Angeles, California; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas White and Marshall White; and one great-great grandson, Riley White.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10th at Rose Hill Cemetery in Arkadelphia. There will be no formal visitation. Arrangements are by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Freddie Lee Laster

Freddie Lee Laster, of Proctor, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, in Methodist University Hospital. Visitation Friday, Nov. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Anthony Funeral Home South Chapel. Services Saturday, Nov. 12, 12 noon in Old St. Paul M. B. Church, West Memphis with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. He is survived by his step mother, Erma Jean Laster of Kankakee, Illinois; a daughter, Chitarra Laster of Chicago, Illinois; four sisters, Connie Mae Brown of Memphis, Gail Laster Scales, Denotra Lois Laster and Katrina Laster of Kankakee, Illinois; five brothers, James Laster of Detroit, Michigan, Abraham Laster of West Memphis, Homer Lee Laster, III of Proctor, Kerry Laster and Tony Laster of Kankakee, Illinois and five grandchildren.
