Municipal races decided in cities, towns across county

ralphhardin@gmail.com There were a number of local municipal elections held last night.

In the Anthonyville City Council Position 4 race, Roy Eason defeated Mildora Hicks, 44-26.

In the Earle, in the City Council Ward 2-2 race, Charlie Young defeated Brenda Morris, 164-63. The Ward 4-2 race will go to a runoff after Tyrone Hurst (90 votes) outpolled City Councilwoman Sarah Johnson (69) and Robert Udell Sr. (50), but failed to garner a majority.

In the Horseshoe Lake City Council Position 2 seat, Shawn Siders defeated Garry Hahne, 82-39.

In Jericho, Gregory Fisher defeated Juanita Edwards, 33-17.

In the Turrell Council Position 4 race, Emanual Harris narrowly defeated Eddie Hale, 109-106.

All other candidates were unopposed. For many seats, no candidate filed for the seat. Those positions will either remain unfilled or filled through appointment.
