The Crittenden County Master (CCMG) had their monthly meeting on Sept. 13, they were busy gearing up for their seminar Sultry Southern Nights”. They also have a booth for the Crawfordsville Home Town Festival on Oct. 8. Congratulations go to John Barber and Ron Baker for receiving their five year pins for Master Gardener’s years of service.

Many thanks go out to the volunteers, donors for facility and participants in the “Sultry Southern Nights” seminar held on Sept. 17, at Angel’s Way Baptist Church, by The CCMG. There was close to 50 attendees, to enjoy 5 speakers, a Lenny’s boxed lunch and everyone was able to leave with a door prize.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family of Iris Adkison, of Hughes. Iris passed away on Sept. 20, at the age of 95.

The Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank those that volunteered their time and those that supported their fundraiser on Sept. 24, at their pancake breakfast.

St. Francis County Master Gardener Seminar

This year’s seminar hosted by the St. Francis County Master Gardener will be “Fall Into Gardening”. Guest speakers include: Dr. Lelia Kelly “Grandmother’s Garden”, Janet Carson “Fall and Winter Color in the Garden”, Patrice Gros “Farm to Table: no till gardening” and Mitchell King O’Bannon “Turf: from Bottom to Top”.
