Crittenden County Extension organizes Homemakers Club

Family and Consumer Science County Extension Agent announces ‘ interest meeting’

mwayman@uaex.edu In our current society, the word “homemaker” has a broad definition.

Homemakers are comprised of young and old, working and stay-at-home, moms and dads, married and single, and grandmothers and grandfathers.

Since 1912, members of the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council (AEHC) have made it their mission to empower individuals and families to improve their lives through continuing education, leadership development and community service.

The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension in Crittenden County would like to take part in the opportunity to join the over 4,400 members and add to the 350 clubs in the state. AEHC clubs can decide to be a traditional community club or have project focus like crafting, sewing or cooking. Clubs will meet monthly to work on community service-based activities decided on by the club members. The yearly membership dues are $5.00. By joining the AEHC organization, you can help better serve the needs of Crittenden County.

If you are interested in joining one of the largest nonprofit volunteer groups in the state, come to our interest meeting Thursday, Oct. 13, at 5:30 p.m., at the Crittenden County Extension Office, located at 116 Center St., in Marion.
