Text The Times.

It just kills me to read on Text The Times about the pick up or parking at the local schools; knowing that the schools are being more or less refurbished and adding on that majority of people wanted after years of very little improvement until now. To me it’s not pulling up to Burger King and have it my way or no way. I would suggest is to safely get your child to and from school until things are finished or the other option is to jump out of your car in a safe side of the street, put on your emergency lights and go lay down in a well sodded grass yard and start screaming and crying with your thumb in your mouth and impersonate a first day pre-school student that is spoiled rotten! [ Editor’s Note: I read this three times and I can’t think of anything to say. So, here’s a song from a great American classic film, “ Porky’s”: “ When you go to cross the street, watch out where you put your feet. Look both ways and be alert, cause if a car hits you its gonna hurt. Safety, safety, it’s the safe, safe way to be.”]

*** Please Mr. President Obama. Can you cut your golf game short and tell Hillary have got to take a small break to mosey up to Louisiana to check on a few thousand people or is that 40 thousand to make a quick speech and try to keep from getting wet at the same time and hurry back to campaign for her? Thank you President Obama. I’m still looking for that hope your talked about 8 years ago or at least decent results from that hope. My relatives in La. Also understand and are being patient while suffering. At least churches and samaritanspurse. org is helping. Oh, I forgot to tell you; just stay in DC and stay out of our way!!

[ Editor’s Note: I’d be flat-tered, but I doubt President Obama reads Text the Times]

*** Oh, one more thing I realize why people are complaining about not getting their paper. I called and heard a sad story and was assured I’d get the missing Thursday paper with the Friday paper after being nice about it and understanding. Guess What? I guess I’ll have to call back again and this time have a handkerchief for another sad story. Reminds me of and old country tear jerker. Ha ha hoo

[ Editor’s Note: I can’t figure out how to respond to this one either. Tough crowd today, I guess]

*** Why is everyone hating on Chuck Livingston lately? All I see is the guy out there hustling.

[ Editor’s Note: I didn’t realize people were hating on Mr. Livingston. I mean, some mild criticism, perhaps, but “ hate” is a strong word. But, you can’t knock the hustle of our resident Sports guy at all. He goes out there and gives it his all at every oppor— wait… Chuck, is this you?]

*** Fantastic job with “Sports News” that was in the paper this week!!! Really great to see and read. [ Editor’s Note: I dunno, from what I read in the paper, there are a lot of folks hating on Chuck Livingson lately. But, seriously, now that school is back in session and there is actually some local sports action to cover, I do actually enjoy Mr. Livingston’s reporting, as well as Mr. Woods’. I feel like our local sports coverage is, for a small- town paper, as good as any you will find]

*** Grassy Lakes sewer because my daughter & sonin- law make more than the gross income state they would have to pay to be hooked up to the sewer in Crawfordsville. They are 3 now but will be 5 in Dec. Either the state or Crawfordsville is wanting some of their funds back by charging over qualified individuals. What if all residents do not want the sewer? What happens to the extra funds?

[ Editor’s Note: It does seem rather arbitrary to draw a line in the sand and say everyone on this side gets this service for free, but hey, I’m not the government. If you don’t want to pay for the sewer system, I’m sure they can just keep their septic system. As for the funds, they are part of a grant the City of Crawfordsville qualified for. Those funds are earmarked specifically for that purpose, so it’s not like they can keep any unspent money. It would go back to the Arkansas Community and Economic Development, who provided the grant, and would then be repurposed]
