Candidates file for municipal posts

Council positions, other elected offices to be contested in Nov. 7 races

ralphhardin@gmail.com When voters head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 7, they will be choosing not only a new president, but also selecting their preferences in a number of state and county races, as well as deciding on a number of statewide ballot measures and amendment proposals.

But residents of each city and town in Crittenden County will also be choosing from a field of candidates in several municipal races. Not all positions are up for election, and not all open positions had a candidate file with the County Clerk, but seats in which one or more candidates did file include (listed alphabetically, by city/town):

Anthonyville

Council Position I — Solon L. Anthony; Council Position II — Eddie Lee Bailey; Council Positon III — Freddie Lee Hicks; Council Position IV — Mildora Hicks, Roy L. Eason; Council Position V — Leroy C. Wright Sr.

Clarkedale

In order to vote in the upcoming general election, voters must apply for registration by Oct. 9, 2016. Early voting/Absentee voting begins Oct. 24 and runs through Nov. 7. Absentee ballots must be received by Nov. 1. Election Day will be Tuesday, Nov. 8.
