Robert “Bob” O’Connor, 58, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016. After graduation from Jefferson High School Bob joined the U.S. Coast Guard which was a very proud time in his life. He retired after 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jane O’Connor.

He is survived by his two sisters, Carol Ruth O’Connel of Garden Grove, California and Teresa Renee Callahan of Reno, Nevada; two brothers, James Peter O’Connor (Donna) of West Minster, California and Michael Charles O’Connor of Long Beach, California; and two special friends, Trish O’Connor of Marion and Sabrena Hardeman of Southaven, Mississippi.

Memorials may be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church at Deneke Hall in West Memphis. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.

Russell O’Neil Wren Sr.

Russell O'Neil Wren Sr., 76 of West Memphis, departed this life, Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on April 8, 1940, to James Vardeman and Virginia Glover Wren.

Mr. Wren was retired from the United States Postal Service and also worked as the Crittenden County Veteran's Service Officer. He was Honorably Discharged as a Petty Officer in the US Navy and served on the USS Shangri-La. Russell was of the Baptist Faith, a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, American Legion and the VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Russell is survived by his son, Russell Wren Jr. (Michelle) of West Memphis; two daughters, Laura Sims of West Memphis and Lana Bell (Mark) of Vilonia; two brothers, James Wren (Leota) of Jonesboro and W.A. Wren (Melba) of Bassett; and four grandchildren: Zeke and Ava Bell, Drace and Lily Grace Wren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m., at Murphy Funeral Home In Marked Tree, Arkansas. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m., at Marked Tree Cemetery.
