Hello what happen to all the protesters… they live in tenn. Miss and Missouri, we just pray, talk, and give our money to the preachers amen where oh Lord

[ Editor’s Note: What, did you want them to stick around? I’m all for people taking a stand to get something done about an issue they feel is not being handled properly, but there are positive and effective ways to do so. That was not one of them]

*** I bet gansta larry allen wishes he was at school learning some sense, or at home Watching t.v. but its too lake pimpin! man up and do yo time play! we we will see you on you 60th birthday! oh yea, sleep tight but keep it clean, if you know wat i mean home boy!! how come eric hunts name wasnt in the paper along with gansta larry allen!? his street name is hamma, but is prison name will proablly be harriet!

[ Editor’s Note: I don’t mean to concern you unnecessarily, sir, but according to the Crittenden County Detention Center’s online inmate roster, Mr. Allen was released at 7: 42 p. m., on Monday. I honestly find that a little surprising, considering not only was he arrested on a murder charge, but his initial bond was set at $ 250,000. Ten percent of that is $ 25,000, and I don’t know this guy, but I know that no one loves me enough to post $ 25,000 to get me out of jail on a murder charge]

*** Would the Marion school district please move the Marion High School Marching Band back behind the football team before this season gets rolling. Whomever

[ Editor’s Note: You know, I realize this might have seemed like a good idea. Giving the band their own section makes a lot of sense as far as making it convenient for them to set up and have room to operate and such, but it does sort of take them out of the game, limit their ability to be part of the crowd atmosphere and change the aesthetics of the whole football experience. I’m an alumnist, but I don’t think I have the pull to get that done. I’ll put Chuck Livingston on it. They love Chuck at Marion…] *** [ Sports Editor’s note: You rang? I actually do miss the band being on the sideline near the team. It’s hard to hear them in that end zone and the band always does a good job and is well- prepared. The only downside is that Marion’s excellent student section, “ The Trench” currently sits in the section for the old band, but if we can keep them close to the action, as well as the band, I endorse this idea totally.]

*** Inquiring minds want to know, when are they going to put a Redbox at the new Walmart in Marion?

[ Editor’s Note: Right out of high school, I worked at Blockbuster Video. It was a dream job for an 18- yearold movie fan. I even had aspirations of owning my own video store at one time. There were at least four or five local video stores, and several other stores that rented videos as a side business. Of course, that was 20 years ago, and look where we are now.

Redbox has completely replaced the idea of a brick- and- mortar movie rental store. There are more than 35,000 Redbox kiosks in the U. S., including seven right here in Marion and West Memphis. I don’t know of any plans to add a new location at the Marion Walmart, though, and according to Redbox’s system of calculating market saturation, I’m not sure one would be deemed necessary. Here’s a tip, though, the one at the Dollar General in Marion is like a secret honey hole.

They always have what I’m looking for. Or at least, they used to. Thanks to online streaming, I don’t remember the last time I used my DVD player.

That’ll be the next thing…

there won’t be DVDs in 10 years, it’ll all be online]
