Daniel L. Ayers, 60, West Memphis was born August 23, 1955 in Dyess the son of the late Mitchell L. and Geneva Tanner – Ayers. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday July 19, 2016 in Memphis. Mr. Ayers was a Christian, having been a member for nearly 20 years of Victory Church. He had worked up until his battle with cancer for Bearden Realty. Daniel was well known for riding Harley-Davidsons and was an avid craftsman. Among many recreations and his affinity for riding bikes, he enjoyed driving his Red 1995 Chevy Truck. Daniel’s dearest purpose and ministry in his life was helping with the needs of his dear granddaughter, Lauren Esparza. Mr. Ayers is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the family home; two sons, Nick (Jana) and Barton Esparza; two daughters, Angelia Muldoon (James) of Bentonville and Jennifer Lynn Ayers. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Ray) Snavely of Mississippi; one brother, Mitchell Lynn (Brandy) Ayers of West Memphis. Memorial Contributions in Daniel’s memory may be made to the Praderwilli Syndrome Foundation Account affiliated with Regions Bank in Arkansas. The family will receive their friends from 1 to 2 p.m., on Friday July 22, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 2 p.m., all in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow in Crittenden Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lula Buckley-Washington

Mrs. Lula Buckley-Washington, 68, of Edmondson, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at her residence. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Edmondson, with services beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery.

She leaves her husband, Melvin Washington of Proctor; three daughters, Ruth Ann Lewis of West Memphis, Josephine Johnson of Edmondson and Lisa Buckley of Garland, Texas; a son, Alonzo Buckley of Edmondson; one sister, Eileen Lewis of Edmondson; 11 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.

Arthur Dean

Arthur Dean, 84, of Marianna, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Broadway Health Care. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kingdom Connection in Marianna and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday with services beginning at 11 a.m. also at Kingdom Connection in Marianna. Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brickeys. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He leaves five daughters, Melinda Shields of Memphis, Reather Carter of Chicago, Illinois, Shirley Warren, Brenda Moore and Darnetha Dean all of Irving, Texas; three sons, Arthur Dean, Jr. and Haywood Robinson both of Dallas, Texas and Larry Dean of Jonesboro; one sister, Gladys Morgan of Chicago, Illinois; 40 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorris Fletcher

Dorris Fletcher, 75, of West Memphis, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at 2nd St. John MBC. Services Saturday 1 p.m. also at 2nd St. John with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three daughters, Dianne Slaughter, Belinda Fletcher and Jacqueline Bruin all of West Memphis; three sons, Scotty Fletcher, Robert Fletcher, Jr. and Jimmy Fletcher all of West Memphis; one sister Benella Jones of Chicago, Illinois; 29 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Chanel McBride

Chanel McBride, 37, of Memphis, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at her residence. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brown Baptist Church, 980 Stateline Rd., Southaven, Mississippi with services beginning at 11 a.m., with burial in Brown Baptist Cemetery. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, Stevin Cash Jr. of Memphis; her father, Edward McBride Sr. and her mother, Paula Anderson both of Memphis; a sister, Regina Gaither of San Diego, California; and three brothers, Edward McBride Jr., Corry Anderson and Eugene Anderson Jr. all of Memphis.

Mike McCain

Mike McCain passed away Tuesday July 19. Rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in West Memphis. Visitation is 7 p.m. Friday at St. Michael’s. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s. A full obituary will appear in Friday’s edition of the Evening Times.
