A Crawfordsville man has been arrested and charged in connection with a May shooting in Earle which left an 18 year-old dead.

Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department arrested Robert Marshall, 24, for manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to authorities, Marshall shot Lakeith Durrell McKenzie on May 5 in the area of Steins Grocery near Arkansas and Poinsett Street in Earle.

“They were actually friends and were shooting at somebody else,” said Sheriff Mike Allen. “He accidentally shot his friend in the head.”

Investigators recovered a firearm which matched the weapon used in the death.

Marshall was booked into the Crittenden County Jail and is free on a $75,000 professional bail bond.

This is the second homicide this year being investigated by the Sheriff’s Department in Earle.
