I have enjoyed seeing more from Riverside speedway in the paper lately. Maybe you could cover some of the races? It is a lot of fun as long as the mosquitoes aren’t too bad

[ Editor’s Note: I’m always glad to run anything we get from Riverside. The main issue in the past has been that we get announcements from them on Friday for the weekend, and by that time, we’ve already put Friday’s paper out. Here lately, we’ve gotten updates a little earlier in the week and that has helped. As far as going out there, I’ll pass the invite on to Chuck the Sports Guy. I haven’t been out to Riverside in probably 30 years, but it was pretty cool when I was a kid, just not really my thing these days. I am happy to see them still enjoying success, though, after so many years in business. Did you know they opened up in 1949? That’s almost 60 years! There aren’t too many local businesses that can make that claim]

*** As it pertains to some of your responses to texts you might want to respond by saying no comment because you are certainly no professor. No comment will be sufficient for a response! [ Editor’s Note: It’s perfectly fine that I get this sort of text every now and then. But the general consensus is that ( most) folks enjoy and appreciate the responses, and I certainly don’t want someone to feel slighted by not responding to their text, so I’m going to continue to do so. I do try to qualify any answer that I give as either factual or simply my opinion so as to minimize any confusion. I will say a couple of things, though: I agree that I am no “ professor.” That’s why it says “ Editor’s Note” and not “ Professor’s Note” ahead of my response. And if “ No Comment” is what you’re after, you can just not read the responses, and everyone’s happy]

*** Loved your responses in today’s text the times! It really keeps us entertained keep up the good work!!! [ Editor’s Note: See?]

*** I know it is a job running a paper route it is 7:45 p.m. at Horseshoe lake and still no paper what is wrong this is almost everyday. [ Editor’s Note: Sorry about that. I don’t know what the usual timeframe for receiving the paper out in Horseshoe Lake is, but 7: 45 p. m. seems sort of late. But I will let the Circulation Department know that you have been having an issue and hopefully, it won’t be a problem moving forward]

*** This is a true hero. My brother having to go get a baby off the bridge and get it to the hospital. Nothing was peaceful about any of this. The people protesting put innocent lives in danger. What if this was their sick baby trying to get to the hospital how would they be acting. All lives matter and my brother Bobby Harrell is showing this in this picture. We have no hospital in West Memphis or Marion. The protesters put black, white, red and blue lives in danger by participating in this type of protest. [ Editor’s Note: Please see the accompanying photo. There are a lot of things I could say about Sunday evening’s demonstration, but I’m actually going to take the advice of the earlier text and say “ No Comment” … I think the picture speaks for itself]
