Seven year old Sydney Hopson, known as 'The ABC Girl,' is slated to participate in the Youth Explosion of the East Arkansas District Congress of Christian Education. Dr.

K.C. McKinney serves as Congress President. This magnetic worship event is intended to grow disciples for Christ. Sydney developed an unprecedented hunger for God's Word at an incredibly young age, according to her Grandmother, Rene Bailey Moore Henderson.

Sydney made a lasting impression during the 15th Annual Exclesisa Showcase Extravaganza held at the Clarion Hotel in West Memphis March 3-5, 2016. Sydney was named first place winner in the Children's Division for ages 4 years to 16 year olds. Judges reported that Sydney edged out the other contestants by receiving her points in the originality category. Youth throughout the nation participated.

West Memphis has always held fond memories for Sydney Hopson's family.

But after her first place win in West Memphis, Sydney began to be featured in magazines and newspapers. She was photographed with Governor Asa Hutchinson after engaging in a twoway Bible verse recital with him at the Arkansas State Capitol. Sydney's memory of and understanding of God's Word continues to grow and her family is appreciative of all the individuals and organizations who help cultivate that growth, states her grandmother!

Tylan Young, son of Janetia Yong, and grandson of Tabitha Young Bell will serve as the alphabet caller as Sydney recites.

Sydney's great grandmother, Etta Jean Bailey, longtime resident of Jeannette, is also expected to be in attendance, along with her aunts, uncles, and cousins who live in Crittenden County and other parts of eastern Arkansas. She is the great, great granddaughter the late Luther Bailey.

Sydney's winning talent showcased her highly requested signature ABC recital whereby she quotes memorized verses and chapters from the King James Bible from A-Z along with the references.

She ended her presentation by singing 2 short gospel songs as she played her own music on the keyboard.

Sydney has a book, entitled God Made Me Who I Am, slated for release in late July 2016. Cupples Bookstore has agreed to carry her book. Sydney is also in studio compiling her first DVD. She recently returned from Birmingham, Alabama after completing her first out of state worship engagement.Sydney will share her gospel talent during the 6p.m. service on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Old St. Paul M.B. Church located at 504 S. 8th Street in West Memphis, Ar. The Reverend Frederick Anthony will serve as host Pastor.

Sydney recently spoke at the Mathis Family Reunion and several Mathis descendants are expected to attend this event, including Jeanette's Mayor John Mathis and wife Marilyn along with Pastor Robert Brownand First Lady Vera Brown of Pilgrim Rest Christian Church in Jeannette, Arkansas.

Sydney lives in Conway, Arkansas with her mother, Katrina Moore. Her father is Travis Hopson of Clarksdale, Mississippi.

The ABC, All aBout Christ Girl will be entering 2nd grade Fall 2016 and is beginning to learn her Bible verses in Spanish.

Sydney attends Conway Christian School on a partial scholarship.
